The historical Lycian road of 555 kilometers from the bar of unique ancient and natural beauties on the route is located on the Teke Peninsula, in the region between Köyceğiz district of Muğla in the west, Gölhisar district of Burdur in the north and Antalya in the east. The road takes its name from the Lycians who once lived in this region. We are starting the article we prepared for those who plan to get to know the route and complete it on foot.
The number of tracks on the historical Lycian Way is more than twenty. Among them, Fethiye, Oludeniz, Butterfly Valley and Yediburunlar tourist attractions such as the location, Patara, up to the gorgeous beach like Chirag and İztuzu, attracting thousands of people from all over the world every year, Turkey's most well-known historical and natural beauties available. On the road; There are extraordinary natural landscapes such as Musa Mountain, Tahtalı Mountain and Göynük Canyon and many coastal villages. It is possible to meet your needs such as food and beverage in these villages. If you do not want to stay in your tent along the route, there are also hostels where you can stay on the way.
The completion time of the Lycian Way may vary depending on the performance of the person. In general, in its final form, it can be completed in an average of 21 days. It is possible to plan an average of 25 km per day. However, some days you can increase it to 40 km and on some days you can lower it to 6-8 km. In this way, you can finish it in 21 days.
Considering that the important thing in trekking is the health of the body, clothing materials with suitable comfort come first. You should also take your camping gear with you, as you will camp from place to place.
Every year in May, the Lycian Way is overhauled by the Kate Clow Association team, sponsors and volunteer travelers. The paths are cleared, controlled, and signs arranged. Of course, municipalities do not stand idle either. They are adding new routes to grow such an ore. Hoyran, Çıtdibi and Geyikbayırı are the 3 newly added routes to the Lycian Way. Special attention has been paid to the new routes passing through the villages, thus it is aimed to include the locals in the tourism potential. The good thing is that those who walk on the Lycian Way will now be able to stay in the homes of the villagers and enjoy those delicious village meals.
